Lynton and Lynmouth are popular tourist
venues set on the edge of Exmoor's stunning scenery and wildlife
habitats. This walk takes in both resorts and a good selection
of the range of scenery that this area offers.

Safety and Difficulty
This walk is relatively safe, although care
is needed where the route follows main roads. It includes several
steep climbs - the steepest of which is the metalled footpath
leading up from Lynmouth to Lynton close to the end of the walk.

Road Directions
From East or West the main road into this
area is the A39. Coming from Minehead (via Porlock) you
come into Lynmouth over a bridge at the foot of a steep
hill. Leave the A39 and go up the steep hill almost straight
ahead, turning sharp right at the top to go through Lynton.
From the Barnstaple or other points west
leave the A39 at Barbrook and follow the B3234. Follow the
signs to Lynton.

Car Parking
Pass through Lynton town centre following the
signs for the Valley of Rocks. The spacious Car Park is clearly
marked from the road. |
